your original phrase:
"30% more mac users"
= 30% more mac users of the original 10%
Say the original 10% = 100 and the 900 represents windows (10% and 90% respectively)...
30% more mac users means
100 x 1.3 = 130.... windows users remain at 900 (or say some shifted down or whatever)... but the fact is that "30% more mac users" means "30% more than the original 10%... not of the whole market" .... so now there are 130 new mac users...
If you had said "mac have gained 30% more market share"... then you'd be correct in saying 40/60 .... but we know there's no way on Earth mac have a 40% share.... by a large large margin
...basically something along the lines of what katalyst said, but a bit more mathematical grunt.
