o.0...generally you don't use a hex editor for translations...you extract the needed files, modify them correctly, and then reinsert them...hex editing as a translation method isn't a great idea.

Usually you have to analyze the files and see how they are compressed (if at all) and that requires knowledge of things way beyond what I know (so I can't really help you there). Sometimes the developers use the same format...but meh, I still don't know a ton on hacking.
