Hacking What is this "gamma loader" thing?

thanks buddy!

if it bricks..........guess we'll find out

wait a cotton pickin minute o_O Maybe since I already have a chip and all I don't need to do the whole downgrading the IOS Process
Maybe I can just install cIOS36 rev07? Cause Animal Crossing works fine for me, it didn't before but after I installed Gecko OS it worked

What ever you attempt has all ready be done thousands of times. Believe me your not the first. So if you ask some to hold your hand trust in them. I will make things go much easier.

Edit: cIOS36 rev07 is to run patch games (some game have to be patch to 249) in order to work, some game use at Ios.

man I'm very grateful for all the help I got here, I'm just asking stuff to make sure before doing anything lol

Well I did reinstall Starfall now and it works great.
Now I want to ask another question, sorry about this guys

Is it safe to install the wads of cIOS36 rev07 and IOS37(apparntly needed for some WiiWare games, I assume Star Soldier R cause that's the only one not working)

I'll just forget the whole downgrading the IOS thing and install these using the regular WAD Manager, is that ok to attempt now?

"For Animal Crossing, you need to install IOS38. Again, read the HSG. "

already works man
I know cause I played it

YES IT IS..

And, I really recommend you installing IOS38. Stop being such a stubborn asshole and do it!

lol its perfectly safe, but dont u think u should be a bit more polite. if you bought something for 360 euros and wasnt exactly sure how to make it do something you wouldnt recklessly install something if you had no idea if you would stuff it up or not

a guy sent me the wad for cIOS36 Rev07 over AIM, sorry to have wasted your time afif95 but Klonoa still doesn't work.
I installed the WAD, I even ran some custom IOS Installer first and surprisingly that didn't require an internet connection.

I'm beginning to think my WiiKey blocks custom IOSs from activating or something like that cause the Rev07 one installed fine but Klonoa is still a no go, I even tried setting the boot language to Japanese, evne before making this topic in Gecko OS and nothing.

why the fuck would you install gamma or else when you have a modchip !!!
no one read his specs or what

Because we can skip updates with softmod? Because we can bypass 002 protection?

Not all modchips can block update and bypass 002 you know

Because for example Capcom vs Tatsunoko will not load through the disk channel (modchip) for me, but works just fine through gamma.

I'm sure you got scammed lol.

I didn't get scammed at all, in fact I personally bought my Wii for 250 Euros modded with WiiKey AND an original Zelda TP from a friend around this time last year, he bought it around December or November 2007.
Nobody's scamming me, it's just the way things are here, consoles are a bit overpriced but pirated games are sold everywhere and they're dirt cheap so it's worth it.

As for why I installed Gamma, Gecko OS and stuff? Well, first off I can't boot imports from the Disc Channel, even with Starfall games still ask for an update and those that have stripped updates just plain don't work. they boot up but something happens and it's like my Wii loses connection with the TV or something.
Before I installed this whole homebrew thing I had to use Freeloader to boot my imports and now that won't work anymore with all this stuff in my Wii.

Anyway if anyone could tell me why Klonoa won't boot even now with IOS36 Rev07 it'd be great. I know it works because I downloaded it from a trusted place and people there confirmed it works, plus god forbid someone uploads something that doesn't work there lol.
I also reburned it to make sure it wasn't a bad burn but nothing.

Naww, dude, I was talking about tim2g. He apparently got scammed lol. Bought Wii with 360 euros?

no dude, he said that it's natural for me to be paranoid when the thing over here costs 360 Euros.
I was lucky to buy it for 250, but they're 360 euros pre-modded and everything in stores here in Macedonai.

There you go

oh wait make that 330 not 360 lol
the 360 is 360 ~_~

edit: and can we find out why Kolonoa won't work for me no matter what and why Starfall doesn't block updates the way it should? Cause I think they both might have something to do with it.

I suppose you tried reburning it again?

If so, maybe a bad .iso. Get a new one.

If that still fails, could be your burner.

But if other games you burnt using your burner, the same media, the same source, and you sure it's a good .iso (applies to Klonoa), then that means you have ran out of Karma. Go save the abandoned dog across the street and try again

I know it's a good ISO and I know my burner works cause other stuff I burn boots up just fine with the same burner, same media and all.
It's just this one game.

and the Wii itself detects the game, says I need a system update despite Starfall supposedly blocking that crap.

Maybe it's one of those small system updates that don't change anything? Should I risk it?

edit: I found the game at another place and people there report the same problems I have, but the people on LL don't and if you upload anything bad on LL you're dead so i know it works.
