I currently have an ATI 4890 graphics card and would like to upgrade to a better card. What is the best model currently available?

Question is, can you afford the best one today? It's a Radeon Ares 5870X2 4GB. $1299.99 on Newegg.

You'll need a second mortgage if you want the best graphics card available...

It's very subjective.......how important is stuff like PhysX to you? Nvidia has PhysX and Radeon does not, but Radeon was the first with DX11 support. Obviously, I'm leaving out a lot of other factors, but I'm too lazy to research and report all the variables.

It all depends on your preferences......you'd probably be better off asking this type of question on a computer hardware forum, rather than a video game forum.

4 GTX 480s in quad SLI can, in 70% of situations, be enough to power an entire geothermal energy plant.

And when you take into account the amount of power it uses, you'll have just enough power left over for a USB fan, no hampster wheels required.
