Gaming What is PS3_EXTRA?

The disc rip of Skyrim has a PS3_EXTRA folder. Do I need it or can I delete it to save space? Which files do I need to keep and delete?

that folder contains things like themes and dlc. I think there's a way to add updates and dlc to the extra folder. ps3 tools can help you with that.

I don’t know how to use ps3 tools and wouldn’t even know what to do with the extra folder.

I've never personally done it, but I believe you place each update one-by-one in the extra folder starting with the oldest. I think the ps3 tools app should walk you through it.

The extra folder already has pkg files in it. Folders Labeled D000,D001 all the way to D008. Which ones do I need and which can I delete. And where do I copy the extra folder in my internal?

I already know how to run disc backups on the ps3 by copying the PS3_Game folder to games in my internal hdd. But what do I do with the extra folder?
