Just as title says. I'm curious if it's possible for dev's to come up with a way to spoof firmware on retail/eshop games (bought legitimately) before an actual full blown native VitaCFW/ISO hack comes about.

Just wondering what the requirements would be for this to take place, since I don't have a coding background. I'm not sure if an update file has to be bypassed, or there's a file that reads for a certain fw version, that can be forced to read it as something like "9.95", so it would never be a question.

(or that wouldn't work if some higher fw games require a feature that is built into the min fw version they "require")

You need at least a native kernel hack.
