I am looking for some double sided tape on amazon but the tapes I have found seem a bit thin/flimsy.

Sthetix uses 9448A tape, but I cannot find the exact model. His tape is black and the tape I found on amazon is white.

This is the final piece I am missing to finally mod my switch.

Doesn't really matter, use whatever you already have. I've been using scotch double sided tape (clear one) without any issue.
Just avoid those thick foam tapes, the clearance between the chip and metal shield isn't very big to begin with.

Also for instinct V6, the pcb is slightly wider yet shorter than hwfly v4. Make sure you wrap the chip with some kapton tape around the left edge, so when you put the heatsink back, you don't short those 4 caps on the left edge. Also make sure you move the modchip closer to the bottom of the console, otherwise the usb port isn't easily accessible with metal shield in place. Place the chip on RAM shield and put the heatsink/metal cover back, you'll see what I mean

Ram Shield? I thought that the chip went on the shield where the NVIDIA chip is.

So any double sided scotch tape works? What if the tape is too weak?

Should I place the Kapton tape over the entire mod chip?

Once the diode values are correct, the switch is ready to turn on right?

I always cut the shield in half and just keep the part over ram chips, that's why I said "ram shield"
After reassembling everything, I will apply a final layer of kapton tape over soldering points and tape the chip down. If you want you can glue it to the metal shield with some epoxy/super glue, although I don't really recommend doing so. One layer is enough, don't over do it, just in case something goes wrong (like dat0 adapter) and you need to disassemble it.
Yes, just connect the screen, power button cable and battery to see if the chip trains and boots to no sd screen, then continue the assembly.
