Yeah, I also think that it's a cheap way of riding on the i-wave...
I can be iTim... the i is for.... my grand grand grand grandmommys name.... yeah.. and I'm interactive too.... and I am me, that's what the i is for.. yeh...

-sigh-

I think this handheld is one of the worst ideas nintys ever done :/

Bad idea...But I am pretty sure it will sell in America since people are probably not willing to wait another 4 months not playing the DS. The DS lite will still sell, and nintendo fan boys will just buy the DSi to have it ^^
That's their plan to shill in more cash

DS idiotic waste of space that makes everyones purchases a waste of time and money

nowadays everything is i: iPod, iPhone, iTouch, iPalm, iGoogle, iTunes, iLounge. Nintendo is just trying to fit in

No, this is round 2 of of the "i" clones. I don't suppose many of you remember the iEverything that happened when the first iMac came out though. That was about 10 years ago now.

Play on personal pronoun.

Wii -- We
DSi -- I

Now there was me thinking that Wii stood for ..

W = wireless and the two small letter ii were representations of the Wii motes and the nunchucks as/are the dots above the Wii motes ... I'm almost sure I read that a few times on various Ninty forums!?

no ideas about the DSi maby as above stated INTERACTIVE seems most probable

So I'm guessing, the i is for I, me, myself, my own.
It's this.....In the convention, they stated that their main goal is to get one NDS per person (not household), and that every DS should be individual, as in I, "my own DS".....

This is exactly what I was thinking. It just makes sense.
