Hi i would like to make multi disc game with the above utility, i would like to know what the shrinking part of the utility does, does it remove certain data or compress it? if it compresses it do the games take longer to load?
Many thanks in advance

I'm no expert, so I can't talk about the filesystem the Gamecube uses and what-not, but many games just do not use the full capacity of the 1.35GB disc. So the util chops off the useless data at the end, and maintains the integrity of the game (usually). Animal Crossing is perhaps the smallest, shrinking down to 25MB.

Check the compatibility list on the wiki for many tested games, and update it if you find others that work or not.
