Hacking What does 1:1 mean?

I have read a couple times that the new Gamma Loader .3 does 1:1 what doe sthat mean?

It means you can just burn the ISO directly without patching it.

Otherwise it won't play in your wii.

It means copies that have not been patched or decrypted (a clean dump) will work with the backup loader.

Unless I misunderstood, 1:1 should be just be an exact copy, no decrypting, no scrubbing etc?

1:1 includes scrubbing as scrubbing only makes the .iso smaller when zipped up.

1:1 doesn't include scrubbing because while there is the same amount of data it is different data to the source.

Its only garbage data thats different.

Only 1:1s will show up in the disc channel, and scrubbed games do show up in the disc channel.

I have a scrubbed Animal Crossing and it shows up in the disc menu, it also launches...

1:1 isn't unique to the wii. It means an exact duplicate. Whether the data is garbage or not it is different which means it is not 1:1.

Those patched games are decrypted and shrinked. Scrubbing is when you replace the garbadge data with zeros, but here it was removed, which means shrinking....

Granted, only the update partition is removed, though.

I had been wondering what 1:1 meant as well. This clears it all up though. I didn't ask earlier only because I haven't had any issues with my game that someone hasn't talked about already.

Whilst in general terms a scrubbed wii release is considered 1:1 (as opposed to decrypted) it isn't a true 1:1.

1:1 should = clean, virgin iso that hasn't been tampered with. Some lame scrubbed release is no longer 1:1 obviously.
