I just like to mod things... I don't do it "to save money," I do it because it is cool to take apart a console and mod it.

Yup that's the way I see it, I just love opening stuff up and unlocking the true potential of the machines, without having to stick to the strict guidelines of, say, the Xbox 360's XNA or the PS3's severely crippled Linux capabilities.

One of the things I'm really waiting for is WiiMedia, I've got other consoles and means of watching videos away from home but lugging my Xbox 360 or PS3 to a friends house to watch a movie is a bit of work, stowing the dinky Wii away is much easier. I occasionally use MFE, but it doesn't run well with my SD cards so it means burning a DVD every time I want to watch something

And I can't wait for a proper custom firmware with support for USB hard drives, being able to store my full games and WiiWare and VC stuff and films etc on it, DVD playback from the menu, all that stuff, bring it on!

I'm not sure what should I "plane" to use hacking for. Let's see first I will fly over to Japan and visit Nintendo's head quarters and give Yoshi a hug... oh wait did you mean plan, oh that changes everything.

Just so you know, I am not the type of person that comes on here and makes negative comments all the time. I like the forums here and 99.9% of the people here. It's frustrating, though, when someone like you comes on here and tries to intentionally cause problems.

This is the third or fourth time you have started a thread asking this exact same question, just phrasing it slightly differently. And on those threads, most people responded in a negative manner to your post. You continue to call it "stealing", which most people that responded said they didn't consider it stealing. And most people were put-off by the question all together. Most of your threads have been very judgemental in tone, as if you are calling the users of this site criminals. Are you trying to participate in a fun, educational community or are you standing at a puplit preaching your ideals to anyone who will listen? If you are going to start a topic thread, once you have gotten your answers, just move on. Don't keep asking the same questions over and over.

It's trolls like you that end up pissing people off and starting flame sessions (i.e. p1ngpong)

Hey sleepy, i dont want to fight about this if you dont like it then just read and move on. i like to talk about this and if people respond then that is cool, if not then what ever, i have ask about the ds, and i have asked about the wii, two different platforms, and two different qustion even thought the underlining thought is the same, and as i am witing this you are still on this even thought you wrote awhile ago, really you are waiting for me to repley, get a life man.

Mostly for apps and homebrew, but also to test a game before buying.
You gotta try the car before purchasing it

I will support Nintendo and vote with my money for the games that deserve the money, others... well....

Dunno what I would qualify as - I only have one injected ROM (CT), but I own 3 copies of the game and Square-Enix won't release it. In the future I'll use the homebrew channels to run similar games (i.e. Banjo-Kazooie).

If someone bought the game first, then decided to share it with you...do you consider that stealing?

That is really where iam at with all of this, all they are doing is shareing the games they paid for, but still that means that a lot of people are not buying it, but i dont know, is it ok if i heard that as long as i dont make money for it i can make copys of my music i dont know if that is true or not.

I'm hoping that some bright spark will port the PSP homebrew Quake and utilise the same control scheme as Metroid Prime 3/Medal of Honor Heroes 2.

I'm also waiting with baited breath for GarageGames' Wii Torque Engine to be leaked. They're only releasing it to licensed Nintendo Developers

I plan to use mine to run interesting apps and free stuff. i also want to be able to play movies / mp3 on it. Hopefully one day it would be nice to stream direct from my PC.

I am also considering writing something myself having written C/C++ a while ago and used the glut extensions to write the graphics (i take it i cant use these to write to the wii)

I turned down the offer from someone to chip my Wii. I used to download games when i was younger as a protest about the prices they were expecting kids to pay (£40+) for games. Now im older and actually earning money, i can buy any games that i want (not many, and now ive got the fiance hooked on mario kart wii its the only thing we will be playing).

I have no objections to anybody downloading games made by people like nintendo, but its a bit harsh downloading wiiware titles that are made by small, upcoming developers, who dont have big budgets etc.
