Ahh Loading screens. Sometimes they're mere seconds, other times they can be full minutes!

As if gaming wasn't enough of a time waster, some of us are stuck having to wait for a game to load or save a game, doing nothing with that time. Or rather, mindlessly filling that time with some small activity.

I was curious what is your go to activity when a loading screen pops up?

Since I was six years old, I have always just twirled the thumb sticks of my controller in circles, or I perform clicks on the D-pad moving from up, right, down, left, repeat. It is actually quite funny and a little sad to think how many hours of time I've probably spent doing that in all the years I've played games.

Do you have a loading screen ritual? I'm curious to know if we all do somewhat of the same things or if other people have their own mantra when waiting to get back to gaming.

- watch the loading bar until is reach 100%, while counting the % one by one .....

sometime:
- hit the buttons in rhythm with the music
- play some "loading game" when available (some games, like one piece .. or eshop loading on WiiU, let you tap buttons to do on-screen things)

...I miss Ridge Racer (Revolution) loading on PSX....;)

I DON'T miss the cassette loading on stuff like the C64 though! Now THAT was loading times, and those were spent praying the thing would make it! "Come on lad, you can do it - COME ON ya bastard!"

Fallout 4 has to be the current culprit for me, and most of that loading time is usually just spent staring at the screen like some kind of fukkin zombie - so yeah, that's my 'thang' at the moment..!

This reminds me of DragonBall Z: Budokai 3's loading screens, where you'd spin the analogue sticks as fast as you could, and saibamen would appear all over the screen. That was fun. With static loading screens, I'll usually take a moment to get a drink of water, or just tap each button on the controller.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
