Hacking What can we do with a bootrom exploit

I have a few question about the bootrom exploit, like:
- if it's released/explained, this will really work on any firmware ?
- Do we need a external device to use it ? (flashcard?)

Thanks, just to know if 3DS flashcard would have an advantage.

it all depends on what version of bootloader is exploited ..if the latest one is exploited it should work on all fimrwares ..updates from Nintendo have the capability of closing the exploit by an update to the bootloader.

the bootrom cannot be changed by update. so any version can be exploited if it is found.

arm9 access might be needed, possibly.

This is basically every arm 9 exploit, just put it that way.
