Of course the Switch use Tickets Like the 3DS.

The systems are nothing alike. Scires has a write up on it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/SwitchHacks/comments/759myu/the_eshop_and_cdn_explained_switch_edition/

And more specifically:
As a whole, though, if their goal is to prevent a repeat of the 3DS's community piracy solution they've very much succeeded. Console-unique client certificates combined with required device-id parameters to download contents mean that Nintendo knows exactly who is downloading what, and when, and they have the power to blacklist anyone who misbehaves by downloading games that they shouldn't be allowed to. In addition, although they aren't currently doing this, because all tickets are console-unique they can know what games a given console is authorized to access, and could potentially restrict access for a given client certificate/device ID to only the games legitimately purchased for that system.
FreeShop is impossible, and if you tried, you'd be on a one-way trip to a permanently banned system. Similarly, it'd be fairly stupid to go online with games that are digital-only that you certainly don't own.

Backing up saves, maybe some trainers for RPGs when lazy..., cheating tools but for offline of course, maybe even streaming, also homebrews using the full potential of the joycons, so much can be achieved...! and of course emunand just in case.

Unless someone finds out a way to block the info that is sent to Nintendo so they won't know who's using unauthorized software. I remember there was a similar solution on the PS3.

I want to be able to copy the games that I bought (I only buy physical copies and don't support downloads) onto the micro sd card and play them without having to take the carts out of their cases all the time. I also want to be able to back up my saves. Kind of scared of losing my 250+ hour BOTW save and having to start over.

Pretty much the same as with all modern consoles, really. I kept buying WiiU, XBOX360 and PS4 games while waiting for those systems to be hacked. I still have a bunch of unopened PS4 games that I can't play because I don't want to update my console.

So how do you plan to use their servers?

A wild Daeken revelation appeared! ^^

Well, I've been pretty publicly working on it in the Reswitched Discord :) Basically, I'm taking the Linux Tegra userland stuff and wrapping it to work on the Switch. If it works (which I'm fairly confident in, at this point) it will give full desktop OpenGL, OpenGL ES, and Vulkan support for homebrew on the Switch. https://github.com/daeken/traNVparency

Nice, couldn't follow much the discord lately, I must also admit you guys are really working on every aspect of the Switch at an incredible speed, hard to believe all the work done in such a small time. You guys are those making me having more and more interest in dev and less in gaming, but always on Switch! ;)

just using my switch

i got my switch about 3 months ago with the full intent to play it but it turns out i had a 1.0 console so i just got an effective paperweight

i just want an emunand solution so i can use the damn thing lol
