I was just reading some threads about the newest method to install the arm9loaderhax (no need to get OTP) and then I saw a lot about to install and setup RedNand.

I'm actually having menuhax + emunand with CFW (Luma3DS). I was thinking to switch to arm9loaderhax due to the new method, but I have no knowledge about how it works and even what is RedNand.

Thanks anyway.

In most cases, it doesn't matter which implementation of emunand you have. The current guide doesn't even use an emunand. You can use decrypt9 to check which you have setup.
To actually answer the question though, gw emunand is a full emunand, and something about every address being shifted +512 bytes to account for partition information on an sd card. Rednand does something else, but you don't need a 1:1 copy of your sysnand (useful for larger nand chips). I.E. you can have a 1.8gb full sysnand backup, but only 1.2gb emunand backups without using nandmin.

When doing the a9lh guide a rednand and emunand is basically the same thing. http://3dbrew.org/wiki/NAND_Redirection should clears things up.

Thanks guys. I got it. Basically the differences are how it reads/writes on the SD card.

But I have seen some guides setting up an EmuNand with arm9loaderhax. What are the benefits to use both istead of just sysnand with arm9loaderhax?

there is literally no reason to use emunand with a9lh if you are a normal user. Gateway forces you to use emunand still, but if you are using their implementation of a9lh, you deserve the brick it will likely give you.

Following any guides or videos other then this will brick your 3ds https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki
No benefits unless you want to waste 1 -2 gb of your sd cards space.

Is this guide updated with the new method to install the arm9loaderhax in a New3DS?
This one: https://www.reddit.com/r/3dshacks/comments/552qbg/guide_how_to_use_otpless_install_for/

Is it possible to uninstall arm9loaderhax? My only concern is if arm9loaderhax makes a permanent mod in the device.

The gudie does have the otpless version now. Arm9loaderhax is permanent and requires an sd card to boot but use shadownand and you can boot without sd card. https://gbatemp.net/threads/shadownand.431718/

It is permanent, but does it have an option to uninstall it? As @ih8ih8sn0w has mentioned. But also, I have a backup of my 9.2 sysnand.
