Homebrew WELP I'M SCREWED

What I mean is, atm, 11.4 has no exploits to enable installing CFW, so, I do not want to be on a patched firmware because I don't want to be left with no option in case I do something wrong and end up losing A9LH.
You don't want to be on a patched firmware in case you can't be on a patched firmware? That doesn't really make sense. If you want CFW, get it, if you don't, then update. Don't be afraid :-)

I already have A9LH+Luma, I just do not want to be on a FW with no known exploits.

Ummmm .... you already have an exploit ...... A9LH.

This is like, if you broke into someone's house by smashing their window with a crowbar, and found their spare key inside. Then saying, I'd better not put down my crowbar and take their television and leave, in case the windows get patched up and I can't get back in again. The very fact that you managed to get the window open in the first place, lead you to the spare key, and now you can come and go as you please, window or no window. They can put iron bars on their window if they like and you can still come and go.

A nice analogy, but not the best one. I could lose the spare key, the victim could change his/her lock, and then I would need the crowbar again. Granted, it is not as easy to lose A9LH as it is to lose a spare key, but, then, Gateway users also thought that A9LH was unremovable. Anyway, online is not an issue for me, and if I need game updates, I have found a place that uploads unsigned CIAs of game updates, so I'm good on 11.2 for now.

Lose the spare key = uninstall a9lh. Are you likely to do that?
Change the lock = Nintendo releasing new hardware and secretly switching your console while asleep. Likely?
I think you are being paranoid and illogical, but it's up to you of course. 11.4 doesn't add any new features and if you don't mind the inconvenience of using ctr-httpwn then there's no harm.

You literally can't lose A9LH on accident. The only way to get rid of it is to brick your DS by USING A9LH to access NAND titles you shouldn't be messing with; Uninstall it on purpose with SafeA9LHInstaller; Or restore a pre-A9LH backup with Decrypt9 without using the "keep A9LH" option. Which I would like to add is not likely at all since everyone should have Hourglass9 as per the guide and that ONLY let's you restore while keeping it.

Basically if you "accidentally" got rid of it; it was more like accidentally on purpose. Just don't be an idiot.

Also with the Gateway thing, once again it was a case of over zealous people being impatient. Had they waited, someone with a hardmod would have confirmed/denied it one way or the other. Seriously, if you have CFW wait at least 7 days before updating and I mean AFTER threads have popped up. WTF do people install CFW then refuse to learn how to maintain it? If you're not going to then why do you even have it?

at this point with the switch out its pointless to add even more of nintendonts "stability" to the 3ds ... its not adding anything ... only removing more ways for us to use the hardware we paid for the way WE want to use it ... im on 11.3 and i have a9lh+luma and i plan to keep it that way for the forseeable future as everything i use my 3ds for works just fine with it as it is lol

Having hacked my 3ds's and 2ds I'm being hypocritical, however Nintendo have the right to stop people illegally getting games they didn't pay for.
