Hacking Weird 4.0u mod

hello all and thanks in advance. got a doozy here. 4.0u mod with xzxero's complete softmod guide. everything was fine until i tried to get the disc channel to work by installing ios38 and cios corp 3.4 now after i put in a original game it reads then blacks out when you try to play it. i can go in homebrew but anything i choose goes black. even when attempting bannerbomb from the sd. tried 4.3 update and it failed, said to check wii settings. unfortunately my nand got erased so i'm a bit clueless. any and all feedback would be nice please.

it is only considered a brick when you have a black screen on boot up permanently correct.. then no.. i can go into my wii, my settings,homebrew,bootmii and preloader but everything goes black

do you have bootmii boot2 and a nand backup?

nand was on sd card that got erased for a r4 card. and ijust found that i can go into shop menu but no other original wii channel. thanks riley but i'm not into hardmod's. i 'd prefer to brick it and pay for the repair if i could but i can't seem to be able to do that although i haven't tried.

Ah had you explaind your problem a little better from the getgo somebody might have gotten it earlier hempin.

The IOS these channels run on probably got corrupted. Those channels should run on IOS31. Reinstall it.

i am in priiloader attempting to load/install a file, is it possible to install ios31 from there and is it only ios31 that needs to be installled? i don't believe i can reinstall ios31 is why i am asking if it is possible in priiloader or bootmii? it looks like betwiin is my only hope..or is it savemmi.. or better yet a Brick!any brick ideas?

thanks to a lil smoke and some simple math. i changed the system to ios249 and did system update to 4.3 problem solved gentlemen. thanks again and lunch on me with your money..lol really, thanks again guys!

That part is what fixed your problem, since it updated IOS31.

now i just have to find a good 4.3 guide then downgrade back to 4.0 or atleast 4.1u

I recommend you to keep softmod with 4.3U for the future games releases and wait a release of new HBC.
Downgrading your system menu is dangerous to life of your console and you will have a outdated System Menu.

i already did bud.. just been looking to get disc channel to play on 4.1u.

You don't need technically need ANY system menu version to play games. You need it to launch the games and ect.

The way to play backup games from the official Wii Disc Channel is installing CIOSCorp / DarkCorp which I don't recommend. You could always install NeoGamma or play games via USB. Disc are out now.
