Gaming Webcam recording software...

I'm trying to find a way to make good quality web videos. I have an old Archos 402 GMini CamCorder, but the Line-In for a microphone doesn't work anymore, so I'm stuck using the external mic, and it isn't great. When trying to record straight from my Webcam on YouTube, I lose a lot of frame rate and audio quality. I even tried the free version of Debut Video Capture, and it ends up dropping more frames than it records. (I end up around 9-13 FPS.) I'm running off a laptop, so I don't know if its my laptop or the software, or the camera even. >.<

Any help?

If that still records at a shitty framerate it's likely your camera's a POS (try going into it's settings and lowering it's resolution).

That just didn't work altogether. My webcam is built into my wife's laptop. Guess I need a better computer. >.< I keep finding reasons to get one, but I have no money to do so.
