Hey there. Im planning to Do a wavebird mod. I want to build in a recharchable battery pack and want to Charge it via induction or a modified charging Station.

Soo the wavebird uses normally 2 aa batteries in series, so it has 3 volts. I thought about using one of the wii mote battery packs and modifiyng the charging Dock. Another idea was taking a wii u gamepad battery but they have 3.6 volts. Would that damage the wavebird? I dont think so but im Not sure. My favorite right now is this:

The Integration of the battery pack will be easy. I will make a opening for the charging contact but the charging Station could proof difficult. Thinking about making a case for that with some Kind of that hardfoam.

it all depends on how the wavebird was designed.
2 regular AA batteries is 1.5V while 2 AA rechargeable is 2.4V - if the wavebird was not designed for that low voltage, it may simply not work or tells you that battery is always low.
Again 3.6V may be too high if the wave bird is not designed for that, but you can always add a voltage regular or simply a regular power diode that have a forward voltage drop of 0.7 volt (3.6-0.7=2.9V)

hmm. Sounds interesting. But two aa batteries have 3 volt if they are in series. One has 1.5 volt. But they worked with normal Rechargable batteries too so that should not be a problem. I think i stick to the Wiimote Batteries because they have the same voltage as a normal lineup with 2 rechargable aa batteries.

yeah, sorry for quite a number or typo as 1.5V should be 3V and voltage regular should be voltage regulator etc.
If the wavebird works with normal rechargeable batteries, then Wiimote rechargeable should work too, the only problem would be capacity - i.e how long will it last per charge.

Not sure if you have this already in the works or not but I'll upload pictures of mine when I can. I went to Batteries Plus not sure if there is one of those around you or not but I had them make a custom battery for about 20 bucks. I attached a qi receiver to the battery from one I bought for a power bank 5 bucks charges at 2.1 amps I also have a voltage regulator to stop from overcharging was about to fit this all behind the battery door with slight modifications to it

So. Bought a pretty worn down wavebird really cheap and the fast charging Station. The controller has a long delivery time though. I will update when i Start the modding. Will maybe make a Photo Progress gallery.
