PS1/2 Wanna fix my PS2

So i got a Slim from a friend but it can't run discs so i took to the repair shop and asked how much would it cost.
They said it would cost 30 Euro to fix it and i denied and found a workaround.
Hacked the PS2 Memory Card and used SMB to load games.

Now i want to attempt to fix it alone. The dude at the shop said that the PS2 needs a Ribbon Cable and a new Laser.
Have been browsing and found a site called LightInTheBox and ordered the Ribbon Cable for 1 $.

And on dealextreme i found the laser

Will those 2 work fine with it or do i need to find other parts? My PS2 model is SCPH-77004 PAL

From your post it seems those 2 should do the trick to fix the disc reading problem. For less than $10 I say go for it.
