Sometimes it errors in the middle of typing when it's extracting 000.app and you have to manually pick it...
To avoid subscript errors, delete the folders the process makes afterwards. the "0001000141424747" folder.

Yes, it should do that automatically, but if it errors it won't. So you have to manually.

i still get errors like this :/

I have gotten it to work on both Vista and XP now... Just make sure you run it as full Administator...

Actually on vista if you want Super-Administrator access try this...

Open an elevated command prompt by typing cmd into the Search box on the Start menu, right-clicking the command prompt icon that appears at the top of the Start menu, then selecting Run as administrator — or just use the shortcut you created in the previous hack.

Then enter this command and press Enter:

Net user administrator /active:yes

From now on, the Administrator account will appear as an option on the Welcome screen, along with any user accounts you may have set up. Use it like any other account. Be aware that it won’t have a password yet, so it’s a good idea to set a password for it.

If you want to disable the account and hide it, enter this command at an elevated command prompt and press Enter:

Net user administrator /active:no

That way you have the fullest control.

just made my first WAD (GeckoOS)...

One thing I would suggest, and it's not even a huge deal, maybe add an option to create a jpg of the 3 graphics to save along side the WAD for posting... just as a side project or something... so let's say I wanna post my WAD of GeckoOS... I'd wanna put a graphic up to show people... if it would be possible to add an option to WADder to make the jpg with all 3 images already combined... not a big coder myself (haven't coded since Cobol in High School... yes, I know I'm dating myself here...)

Hmm, good idea. I'll add it to the add-in-1.0 section

.

@deba94 and any other major wad people: are there any other tools besides Gally's to make banners? And is there a GCM-something-something PCM encoder available (for looping sound)?

@zidane_genome Hehe we must've grew up together! I used to run a bbs on a c64...

or atleast it could save them to designated folder after resizing...call it channel preview folder
named...

:c\wadDER\PreChannel Images\

Examples:

channelname590x332.jpg
channelname128x96.jpg
channelname111x32.jpg

and maybe sound saved in .wav? for sound sample link?

quick sample of my GeckoOS channel... about to install it on the Wii now... was making sure I was safe with the TPHack and WADmanager booting...

@IronMask... I did too! I remember way back in 5th grade sitting at an Apple][ coding over 3000 lines for a simple game where you tossed a cracker by hitting space and tried to get it into the mouth of a parrot who scrolled across the top of the screen... no ASCII, real (at the time real, lol) graphics... all in BASIC!!!

probably better to have you choose a folder or just go to the desktop

*adds choosing folder*
Edit: done. Should this be an option, or required?

I've been manually editing the batch file and have gotten it to successfully run through the entire process once..and that's it. I added the following command to each program that ran:
START /w

Can there be a channel without sound.bin? Does that just show the channel without sound?

There are lots of custom channels without sound, but I'm not sure if the sound.bin is just removed. I'll try to find out and will report back.

Got my first banner inject working PERFECTLY!! AWESOME JOB DUDE!!

Only one complaint... Icon Image and Icon Logo swap back and forth when you sit on your Wii Menu... is there a way to get it to stay still as one image? Or do I have to load both as the same image?

Just a little pet peeve... no biggie if I just have to set both II and IL as the same... just wondered!

i just made my 1st wad, its a ftpii channel it works fine but my banner is tetris and called xuzz channel, is this some kind of brick proofing or am i just retarded?

No, they are different sizes (and we can't change that...yet). Just make text for the logo (the name of the app).

0.9.9 with image saving and renaming is packed and being uploaded (slowly)

Ummm, thats the old test version. use 0.9.8 for now (0.9.9 in a few minutes)

Id also suggest everyone making a WAD keeps the code in the WAD name so that people know whats what.
It might be an idea to start a wiki on the codes people use and whats not in use.

Also ones for the backup loader channel - we may as well just the same one for things like that globally so that its not overused .... i think one of them is BIDO is anyone else wants to use that ID for backup loader channels.

Just so you know - i used this on vista - i set the compatibility to XP SERVICE PACK 2 and i didnt tick the box and it worked perfectly - now i have only done one so far and tested and its fine , ill do more and test and let you know , but Vista usually works ok on xp sp2 compatability
