Hardware Vita Joystick differences and Inquiry

So I was wondering, since the GPD Win uses the Vita 2000 Joysticks, I am wondering about them. I tried taking a 1st Gen Vita Joystick and putting it in the Win, but the Mouse just went to the Bottom Left like it was Locked in that direction.
I noticed that the Ribbon Cables are very Different. The 1st Gen has 6 Connections, where the later has only 4. I was wondering if it would be possible to switch the Cables out or at least swap out the actual Joysticks
