Sorry for my non existing knowledge on these topics.

I have a M3 Real thing turning up soon for my kid.

Does it make any sense to watch Pokemon movies on a ds lite?

I tend to use DVDfab to resize movies, does anyone have any experince with this.

Could you prehaps recommend another program.

i recommend getting batchDPG

most video converting/editing programs produce video's unuseable by the DS, since the DS can't handle the heavy encodings.
batchDPG automatically resizes the video to the DS screen size, and uses and encoding that's supported by all DS media players.
a full movie is around 250MB, an episode of a cartoon i think around 80MB.

Does this sound like the NDS can handle:

256X138 in frame resolution

20 fps

64 kbps audio

fps is better at 15 or 10, for the rest it's good.
but, can dvdfab save as DPG?
that's the only universally supported DS video format.

I've just resiezed a dvd, and it is a .dpg.

The M3 has'nt landed yet so I can't test it in real life.

Do you anything about micro sd cards?

Is it sufficient wiyh a class 4 card to watch video with 15pfs?

class 2 is already more than enough.
the fps is mostly limited by the processor power, and not the microSD speed.

I don't mean to take your post off topic, but may I add a question to this, which may or may not help.

I too have children that when we go on long trips I would like to let them watch movies on the DS. I just recently realized how to take our DVDs, and use DVDdecrypter to get them into .vob files and then use Super C to convert them into .dpg files. However, it doesn't seem to always work. For instance, I was able to get Clone Wars for my son to work, but my daughter had a movie Aquamarine that any time I try to convert the .vob files Super C completely shuts down/closes.

Is there a better way to convert our DVDs to .dpg?

batchdpg works to convert to dpg, but you need a compatible video file first(don't know if vob or dvd is compatible)

also play through the video once before converting to dpg, if it freezes/glitches up anywere it can cause problems.

On the topic of framerates, I get no slowdowns and very occasional skips at 24 FPS.

I still have'nt been able to test, that my conversion to .dpg files actually work.

With dvdfab you can convert the dvd directly, you can also load iso's and vob's, and convert directly to .dpg

And it's pretty straight forward adjusting fps and resolution and such.


When running 24 fps, is this at full resolution?
