Hacking VC wads and injection

Im wanting to play several different n64 games on my wii. Some of them don't work with wii64 and I am trying them by injecting them into vc wads.

The question i have is does every n64 vc wad use the same emulator or does each one use a slightly different emulator? Would it be worth it to try injecting my roms into different vc wads for better results?

The very latest N64 games appear to use a different emulator, but there's no way to inject roms into them yet due to encryption issues, I believe.

Compatibility for injected N64 games is low. If your games don't work in Wii64, they probably won't work as injects either. There is (or was) a wiki article about which games work best as injects but I can't seem to find it. This thread is rather old, but it has a good list of which games work as injects:
