alright well i have a v5 ps2 and today i burned a dvd movie i tried playing it on my dvd player but it couldnt read dvd+rw so i try it on my ps2 and i was surprised it actually worked so now that i know the movies work i was wonder could it read dvd+rw games

It may do , depends on the game. Something that's constantly streaming from disc like the GTA games might not work to well. I wouldn't advise using dvd+/-rw discs though , unless you want the laser to die prematurely.

Backup movies work on ANY PS2, Games on the other hand DO NOT.
Unless you use a swap disc or a modchip.

That is all

Why would you even ask if they would work if you didn't have some sort of mod

. If you ask about playing copied games on X media, assumption would be you have some way to boot em.

i guess his console is modded and he is asking about gameplayback from rewriteable media, correct?

its not modded but im gonna get my swapmagic like in a week or so
and can anybody tell me if this is swapmagic v3.3 or v3.6 http://www.keepgaming.com/ps2/NXP2R-008.htm it says it v3.6 but it shows images of v3.3

Just wondering, why do you want to use dvd+rw so much?

I'd assume you just want to try out if something works without losing a dvd. Still, these days $20 gets you a pack of like 50 dvd-r's, which are pretty much guaranteed to work on any ps2 out there, as well as putting less stress on the ps2 laser.
