Gaming USUM Credits Softlock

I have a friend who's Ultra Sun copy softlocks on the credits (as in it plays music but its wont progress after the long list of people), any ideas/help?

Delete the Save Data

You could also give us a bit more infos like the 3DS Version (NEW, OLD, 2DS ...), which FW and/or CFW, B9S/A9LH, Digital or Retail, US or UM ?

The install might be corrupted (assuming it's the digital/CIA version)

the cartridge can be corrupted too (very rare because I think they check hashes before shipping....)

-Old 3DS XL, 11.6, CFW w/ B9S, Digital, Ultra Sun- We already attempted redownloading multiple times, reinjecting his save, and general updates to the system
EDIT: Guess maybe it's a good time to mention that he may have gotten it from not so legal sources i.e. freeshop

Freeshop is the best Source for "clean/vanilla" Games because it downloads them directly from Nintendo.
You could try editing a bit with the Save File (PKSM) but keep a backup
