I recently bought a wired Band Hero drumkit and Guitar Hero microphone to use with my vWii backups.
However, my Wii U doesn't seem to acknowledge them, although it allows my wireless Guitar Hero guitar to work.
The instruments work perfectly fine with the Wii disks, but seem to disconnect when loading the Homebrew Menu, USB Loader GX, or the backups.

My backups run off a 2-port HDD (one power, one data transfer) at the back of the Wii U, so could that be causing an issue?
The instruments use a single USB port, and I plug them in at the front of the Wii U - does the vWii acknowledge these ports when running backups?

vWii,USBLoader and Guitar Hero / Rockband Games (and so on..)...not really the best Friends.
If you have the original Game Disc(s),then you can be luckily playing with your Accessories.

There is not really a "Manual" how to get it to works with USB Loaders like USBLoader GX or WiiFlow.
Because you only have the Choice between 2 maybe 3 Game cIOSes (249 / 250 / 251).
You can not try hermes cIOSes on lower Slots like on the Wii.

You can maybe try the
"v10 beta53 d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii" as
(not really recommended,but....some maybe have the Luck...).
Alternative to the recommended
"v10 beta52 d2x-v10-beta52-vWii" cIOS.

Do not forget to make an NAND Backup before from your vWii in Case something happens.
https://wiiu.hacks.guide/#/vwii-modding

  1. Launch the Wii U NAND Dumper.
  2. Use the Wii U GamePad’s D-Pad to enter the following configuration:
    • Dump SLC: optional
    • Dump SLCCMPT: yes
    • Dump MLC: optional
    • Dump OTP: yes
    • Dump SEEPROM: optional
  3. Press the A button to start the dumping process.
  4. When the process completed, power off your Wii U, take your SD Card out of the Wii U and plug it into your PC.
  5. To make sure you don’t lose the files, copy the slccmpt.bin, otp.bin and if you chose to go with a full backup, seeprom.bin, slc.bin, and every mlc.bin.part file to your computer.
  6. Delete the files from your SD Card to free up space.
  7. Take the SD Card out of your computer and plug it into your Wii U console.

Maybe an other Solution is to use / try an active Hub with Power Supply on the Front USB Ports.

Good Luck.
Thank you.😉

Got it working, thanks to a friend giving me this setup: (see picture, uses back ports, brilliant graphic design)

Yeah, that makes sense. Plus you should always use a port from something OTHER than the Wii U if it needs an extra port for power.
