i'm thinking to buy sxos CFW as it can run xci directly which is more safe as i understand ,,
beside that point , what's pros/cons , real life experience for sxos vs kosmos ?

The big reason to use SX OS is that you can play games off an external hard drive which is cheaper than sd cards usually. If you have no interest in using an external hard drive just use Kosmos.

I use sxos just because I'm lazy and mount my .xci files without installing.

Atmosphere (and Kosmos, which uses Atmosphere) is free and can do just about everything SX OS can do, so it's the choice for most users. If the features specific to SX OS are worth the money, then you should buy SX OS.

SXOS. - The only solution present to offer XCI booting from external HDD. Expect slight delays in firmware releases but games most of the time font require latest anyway. Only patches, which you can either hold out for or resign to a lower firmware manually.

i still have to say SXOS. it is annoying how there are no ips patches on SX, its annoying how lockscreen themes dont work on 9.0, its harder to work with reverseNX and overclocking, etc, but the external HDD support is pretty much crucial for me.

not to mention i like to have my >10gb games as split XCI's so i can drag and drop them. don't listen to anyone that says xci's aren't a big deal. its much faster to drag and drop 300+ gb of games as xci files than installing them, one by one, connected to a computer.
Even if you want to install xci's its a huge advantage to be able to access that usbhdd. you can run nut server over wifi, OK, but its still slower than good old USB3.

lot of crybabies around here that pretend to have ideological differences, but i can guarantee that they would all be paying customers of SXOS if it were the only game in town and they didn't have a bandwagon to follow like lost puppy

Wow, the last line hurt. First of all, SX OS is only good for piracy, that is it. Everything else is either implemented poorly, stolen from other CFWs or not implemented at all.
SX OS Doesn't have:
Sysmodules
Good Homebrew Compatability
Literally everything you mentioned above in your post

Not to mention, things like XCI are locked behind a paywall, and if you don't pay you get all the list I wrote above. Amazing!

Atmosphere is free, It allows so many things that SX OS doesn't. Like the list of things you said that don't work.
Unless you really care about those minutes and the XCI, Its not worth it.

listen, im not bashing on atmosphere at all. god bless atmosphere and sciresM guy, to be sure. you have valid points 100%
im pretty admitting about the shortcomings of SXOS, and the truth probably is that really i hope some of those features are coded/*stolen* =( =(

with regards to piracy, im a huge dirty pirate, miserable person. on the day of judgement, it will be quite the trial.

still though i don't agree with the whole, 'usb access is strictly for piracy', neither the stance on XCI, though that one is a little more understandable.
nobody is honest anymore these days and its a crying shame

I never mentioned USB access actually, but XCI is strictly for piracy. What homebrew in this world uses XCI.

Are you sure you aren't bashing Atmosphere? You sure do sound like it.

Emunand was the only reason that keep me on sx OS. Xci and nsp are both safe on emunand if you block nintendo servers or keep it offline.

I spend most of my time on atmosphere but every now and then I boot to sx OS vía payload launcher to copy new files from USB thumbsticks or install big nsp files from exfat pendrive.

At the current state of atmosphere/kosmos I wouldnt buy sx license, everything works well on atmos and feels much better finished than sx os.

im confused about that. atmosphere is fine. if they had either usb access or xci mounting (then sxinstaller features would also need to be ported) then there truly would be no reason to use SX, but alas..

i'm speaking to the non-stop hate i see re: sxos in all things in every thread where it is mentioned. people are too stupid to even realize that *maybe* things like their precious emuMMC might not have come to fruition so quickly/splendidly if not for it being done and offered by alternative paywall SX.
i hope the same thing happens with the features imo it is sorely missing.

regarding homebrew there are only a couple things that i have had trouble with, and most are solved by FW 9.x (i prefer 8.x atm because of payload-launcher not being compatible, and lockscreens don't work on SX 9.x due to lack of ips patches)

ReverseNX works on 9.x, that was missed on 8.x. overclocking works now as well. I haven't looked recently but i believe flycast dreamcast emulator doesn't work with SX. but the statement that sx has shit homebrew compatibility is i think a dubious statement

From 2.9 sxos supports sysmodules in title format, this reduced the gap with atmosphere about customization and advanced features like overclock reversenx and even emuiibo should work. SXOS supports exefs ips patches as well from some time.

how do i use sysmodules on sx?

Actually.. I dont store many games on SD CARD.. I selected few games on SD CARD and store many larger games on external hard drive so I will stick with free CFW instead of SX OS anyway. Really, no difference.

your post is confusing. what exactly do you mean? how do you access those games on extHDD w/ atmosphere?

This fight will never end.

SX Pro (the full kit) is the easiest way to mod your Switch. Period. Is it the best option? Depends. To me SX is the best simply because of .xci files and how you can mount them instead of installing them (functions exactly like inserting a game cartridge, so you can only mount one game at a time, but it's pretty fast and smooth). I don't know if .xci is safer or not, but for sure it is the easiest, fastest and most natural way to load your games and play.

Plus: the cheat engine in SX OS is solid and very “integrated” to the OS.

Buy SX Pro and be happy.

No. You can access frw games on SD but store alot of games on extHDD for so called safe deposit. If you prefer then you hace to use sx os which i prefer not.
