using rcm loader with older hekate

using rcm loader with older hekate i can boot atmosphere fine but wondering about any disadvantages to doing so?

If everything works then there is no need to update.
Only when the firmware update requires it or you are experiencing some problems, consider updating.
It's not that your Switch will run faster or you'll get a better battery life by upgrading Hekate/Atmosphere.

Do you mean that you have an old Hekate payload on your RCM Loader? You don't have to update it because the payload looks for a newer payload on the SD card. So if you a newer version of Hekate on your SD card than the payload on the RCM Loader then the newer payload on the SD card is automatically used. So only thing you need is to update Hekate on your SD card

You should update hekate there is a lot of new features anyways this is what i use so i dont have to update my payload injector each time there is a hekate update. Dragonboot payload bin and uf2 files

Hekate loads the update.bin payload
