I know it's not out and probably quite a way but
Would using emuNAND as my official platform fw be possible? I made a nand backup before using any homebrew/layered/sxos

So would it be theoretically safe to use said backup on a emuNAND keeping my pre messed official NAND as is?
We know clearing logs using devmenu and various other things can get you flagged I just wondered if this is possible?

Also would restoring a nand from a backup leave residual evidence of tampering on the switch?

AFAIK, in any instance (theoretically speaking) once you have a way to replicate the OS and boot it from an SD or USB then your in. that's just how emunand should work. in the case of the switch like you mentioned we are probably still a couple years away from that, if we ever get to do that.

also people have been doing nand restores on switch and as of yet no one has reported a ban for reverting back to an original state of nand before CFWs and homebrew.

Sent from my portable computing device from a underdeveloped country.

OK sounds right, I just wondered if or not it matters where you using cfw, in the past I've always used cfw on the emuNAND not the other way around

I guess the only difference would be that you would have to use a hack (likely RCM) to boot your emunand, so it would depend whether that turned out to be completely undetectable once your OFW was booted. It seems safe so far, but you never know. If your OFW was on sysnand then you would be able to do a completely standard boot, no hacks.

Yeah my current issue is my ofw as it stands has had homebrew/sxos and dev menu launched on it.
Do we know if restoring a nand backup leaves any residual information of previous activity the switch has done?

Could I restore my nand from the first backup I made at this moment in time then use my switch online and play games

We don't know but the jury is leaning towards no. As long as the NAND backup was made prior to any hacks/homebrew, then you should theoretically be safe but if the NAND has already been tainted, you will have to wait for better tools to remove such traces. nx-dreport for example only removes error logs and there is a possibility that using it on 5.X will create inconsistencies that can still lead to a ban.

Actualy naehrwert already demoed creating an emunand on the 14th of june. Though since TX was released and hekate was used for pirating, he took hekate down and probably he won't release any emunand tools to the public.
Though Atmosphere will be emunand based aswell, though it is not known when it will be released. Soon... :)

Not all info is known yet and also nintendo paid service is coming soon which might have more flags for bans and other custom checks...

Basically if Nintendo get a way to read RCM data nothing is safe unless they start hacking it and reporting clean data (though is very unlikely that nintendo could log any RCM info as most stuff is disabled, but we never know if they get some "magic" way of getting info on RCM later).

But in theory that is the safest way of never being flagged 4 a ban, a OFW fully clean 4 online with original games and a emunand completely offline with a offline profile for backups, emulators and all magic stuff and then completely remove the emunand M-SD from the console and stay in OFW... However yeah, nothing is 100% safe as nintendo can update whatever they want including Joy-con FW, gamecard reader FW and maybe other craps so they can keep adding more and more checks\cvar\flags or whatever...

If you have done any hacks on your system it is probably too late for you now. When you make an emuNAND it is going to be a clone of your sysNAND. Unless maybe formatting will remove any traces of homebrew use etc.

Unfortunately formatting won't remove every trace. OP's best chance (if he didn't do a clean backup) is probably to wait for better anti-telemetry tools to be released. Maybe atmosphere will help with that at some point.
