Just today I successfully installed USB Loader GX onto my Wii, and installed my copy of Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes onto the USB. However, after that the actual disc now tells me that I have to perform a Wii System Update to play it.

Did I miss a step that prevents this, or should I just risk the system update?

I currently have 4.3u.

If you use USBLoader, why don't you run the game from USB ?

it says there's an update because your IOS version (in slot249 I guess) is lower than the "fake IOS" nintendo created to replace the one used by USBLoaders.
there are different method to not see the update message :
1. don't run games from disc channel (you can play from Disc using loaders if you want)
2. install cIOS with a higher version number (instead of 21008 or 21010, select 65535 when installing cIOS)
3. Install priiloader and select the Update blocker (from Disc, from everything)

in USBLoaderGX, you can either dump your disc to ISO to USB (insert the disc in the loader and select install game, then run the game from USB), or select mount to launch it.
if it's already inside the Wii, you can run the game by selecting the Disc icon at the right of the top menu.

I only have the one Wii game so I don't know if this would be an issue with all Wii games, and I didn't intend to use USBLoader for every game that I would eventually get.

Where do I find cIOS, and how do I use it. I'm not very savvy with what to know, I got this far with multiple forums and video guides on YouTube.

Edit: I should also mention that the disc channel didn't tell me to update until I "installed" the game into the USB.

Edit #2: After looking it up I now understand that I need a "Custom IOS". Now I have a IOS236 Installer/Uninstall and a Wad Manager 1.4 (in Spanish) that came with the tutorials to install USB Loader GX and Accio Hacks (i think). Can I use one of those to create a cIOS and if I can, what should it be if all I'm using, at this point, are: Gecko, Accio Hacks, VBA GX, USB Loader GX, and I still want to use Disc Channel.

LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol

They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol

@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways

you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market

and nvidia is already doing ARM

Yeah I think Nvidia s future lays in AI GPU acceleration stuff if they can get that going it's going to be super interesting in the long term

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Psionic Roshambo AI assisted game creation is kinda already here, there was recently that AI that can turn any 2D image into a fully modeled 3D object, it's not perfect, but it's a starting point, beats starting from zero

before that there was one to generate a fully modeled scene from a 2D image

but most recently, there was one that actually generates a working unity scene with terrain and textures already set up that you can import right into unity, that's a huge time saver right there

and using LLMs to generate NPC dialogue and even dynamically generated quests is something i'm sure is already happening
