Hacking usb loader gx freezes

so i've done all the proper steps to soft mod my wii. however when i try to open usb loader gx it freezes at the screen when it says "waiting for hdd" and has 1 second left on the count down. i'm using a 300gig maxtor hard drive formated with wbfs manager 3.0. wii is 4.3. any ideas about this?

Hopefully you haven't put to many games on the HDD so you can convert it to FAT32.
And use WiiBackupManager instead

i havn't put any on because I havn't been able to use it.

nope. i used wiibackupmanager to format it as fat32 and it still freezes at "waiting for hdd 1 sec left"

does the sd card have to be formatted a certain way?

Try with a different HDD.
But if after trying different HDD/Flash drive/USB-SD adapter, etc. and it still don't find the drive, you can try with WiiMC (which depend on IOS58 and not cIOS) and see if it's compatible.

I personally found a Wii incompatible with cIOS, and found two other persons on this forum with the same problem.
Incompatible Wii are very rare, so it's mostly a problem from your setup.
