Just thought I'd throw in my penny's worth...

I had the same problems and frustrations as you(above) but wanted to share my final success as I'm sure many people have had the same terrible experience...

At first, I used a USB 3.0 32gb flash drive with the same result as above "No USB drive found".
I thought it couldn't be the stick as it's brand new model. So... I reinstall all the hacks etc many times with no more success!!!! >:(

I finally discovered it WAS the flash drive!
I've tested a few alternatives that I have.

The best results seem to be with simple micro SDHC cards with a simple single slot micro SDHC reader.
You can get them on eBay for a $1

These seemed to work every time.

Flash drives gave various results. It didn't seem to matter if it was USB 2.0 or 3.0.
My Transcend & Toshiba didn't work.
My Amazon's own brand did work!

After testing I've ended up using a 32gb micro SDHC in a micro card reader with no more problems.

ALSO... VERY IMPORTANT... You HAVE to put the card reader in the USB slot that is closest to the Wii's side panel.
If you are looking at the back of the Wii, it's the one on the right, below the USB symbol.
If you use the left one, under the writing "USB"... This slot seems to go into HDD mode or something and can't find the USB flash drive!

Basically... This error is fickle! It's down to individual drives & cards and seems not to be the hacks. At least in my experience.
Good Luck.
Ann in Japan!

Hey Samrmessi
It is probaly that your hadr drive is no longer formateed the right way.. I recomend back it up and reformat it with a very spesific way... it has to be a way that i foud and it has something do with your HD going to sleep because it is not in logic mode... that probably didnt help.. but there are tons of videos and I am sure you can get this one pritty easy
