USB Loader GX works as expected when opened fra HBC, but the forwarder leads me back to the System Menu. I am using latest version of USB Loader GX (r1260) and the forwarder is from here. Do you have any idea what could be the problem?

Wrong folder name in /apps/ mayber? It needs to be "/apps/usbloadergx/" or "/apps/usbloader_gx/".

You might want to try the actual full USB Loader GX .wad application instead of the forwarder. And like @GreyWolf said, your problem could be because of a wrong folder name.

Please, don't use the full channel wad. It is really outdated. Forwarder & right path for the app is the best solution. It works both with the app in the SD and in the USB.

Thanks for the replies.

The folder name is indeed "/apps/usbloader_gx/" and it still doesn't work.

Do you have any other ideas to what might cause the problem?

Are you using a Wii or a Wii-U, and where did you get the forwarder? (Current: 5.1 from here)

Do you have the app on SD or USB and is it on the first FAT32 partition of an MBR drive?

Also, do you have d2x custom IOSes installed? (Syscheck can generate a .csv file you can post.)

I'm sorry I haven't picked up your reply! I've had some other problems that made this seem pretty irrelevant. But I really would like to solve this issue.

The app is on the SD card.

You're missing IOS58. :)

You can use ModMii to download it from Nintendo's servers. (Page 1, option "58")

Thank you, GreyWolf.

I'm a little confused about the files I'm getting with the ModMii package. Is it a Windows app? There's a lot of exe files in there. I'm using Mac.

http://wiibrew.org/wiki/IOS58_Installer

You don't need modmii (windows app)
Use the link above, it's a homebrew you run directly from your Wii, and it will install IOS58.

It's NOT the latest version, but it's good enough.
If you really need the latest version, modmii is one solution. extracting it from game ISO is another one, NUSDownloader (windows too), or finding a wad (illegal, dangerous and not recommended to get random wad from random places).

The best solution without windows, is to use WiiXplorer and a game disc, extract it from your official game.

Remember to reinstall Homebrew Channel after installing IOS58 in order to take advantage of USB 2.0 in HBC.

just reinstall it after IOS58 installation, and it will use it.
You can launch the hackmii installer from HBC, you don't need to use a game exploit again.

You can verify it's correctly using it by going to HBC and press Home menu. Look at the top right.
