if you launch neek from Nswitch, you also need to replace SD:/bootmii/armboot.bin file
That's the one loaded when you read "loading bootmii IOS", in fact the IOS is launching armboot.bin file.

So, even if you use Usneek (the USB version) you still need the "copy to SD" content.

Your other setup seems fine.

After trying multiple guides and setups, I still haven't gotten it to work. Not sure what else to try...

Try Sneek (on SD), maybe neek usb driver is not compatible with your drive.
Try another HDD.
Same thing happens on an SD card. Black screen when booting from GX and nswitch gets stuck on "Reloading BootMii IOS".

@Cyan
Any ideas? Could there be something missing from my setup that might be causing this? Is there another version/type of NEEK that might work? I haven't tried with another HDD but seeing as it doesn't work with an SD card, it doesn't quite sound like a device compatibility issue.

sorry, I don't have more idea.
using an SD card should prevent issues like sector size, partition type, etc.
SD should be easier to setup for neek, so I don't know why it still doesn't work.
