I recently decided to get back into Wii modding and I discovered game back ups and i followed every step ( installed iso 249 an 250 I even tried Hermes ) but nothing is working, I have nintendont and it works perfectly! I just can’t seem to play my Wii games ): they have worked either once or twice but I’ve just given up at this point, usb loader gx just crashes and cfg usb loader freezes on booting Wii Game please wait.... I need urgent help ASAP!! Thank you ❤️❤️

Hey! Thank you for your help, I fixed the issue by changing a line in the meta file, instead of IOS=249 I changed it to IOS=224 and all the games booted up immediately like a dream.

Can you share what you did for this? I'm working on the same thing right now.

don't follow random thread with bad advice (though, you might not know it's bad).

What the user did is change the IOS slot used to boot the loader.
it's not the IOS used to play the game, but only the IOS used to initialize the HDD.

Editing the meta.xml file manually is possible, but I'd recommend you let the loader do it for you.
doing it manually can mess it up, and prevent the loader from editing it correctly.

1. be sure you have latest and proper files: go to sourceforge and click on the green download button to get the latest release.
2. extract to your SD card, and replace your previous/existing files.
now, you are sure to have a good meta.xml that the loader can edit.
3. launch the loader, go to settings > loader's settings > Loader's IOS : replace 249 with 58 (NOT 224 or whatever random number you find on internet).

now, your drive has no more issue initializing.
this trick is NOT a way to fix black screen games !
the meta.xml has no relation with game's compatibility.

for game's compatibility, it's the second option : game's IOS.
the best is never the same ! it depends on YOUR OWN SETUP ! don't randomly follow and change your settings based on someone else setup without knowing what that user's setup is!

setting 224 will be worse if you never installed 224.
it would be worse too if you installed something else than what that user had in HIS slot 224.

If you have a problem, provide your setup first and ask for help.
