I'm not a big fan of disposable batteries, or even rechargeable ones. i'm more interested in the GBA SP solution, where you can plug it directly into AC. However, it would be much more convenient for me to just plug it into a usb port. after some looking around, i can't find anything that would fit the bill. i'm ok with some DIY, as long as the full product can fit inside the original case and not stick out. anyone have any insights on where to start?

I assume you're talking original GBA, and not SP, as SP USB chargers are simple to find. As the original GBAs, I remember some battery pack options, but don't recall any usb ones.

yes, the GBA. not the SP. I was thinking i might be able to DIY the AC port to a more accessible USB port, but i'm not sure about the scale of the project.

I was thinking the same, but maybe with phone batteries that are easier to find, I wanted it both for my original GBA (and a upligth/gbsp screen mod) and my wiimote , but would need some housing mod :/
