Hi boys & girls - looking for some assistance regards to usb - so when i modded my wii the usb drive I had at hand was 16gig I've just recently got 128gig I thought all I would have to do is transfer all the files to the 128gig and belt away with that but the wii won't recognise usb when I click on usb it brings back to apps on my sd, I have also formatted it to fat32 before copying any files, is there something else I am doing wrong ?
Any pointers in some direction would be appreciated

Cheers

hello ,

with your USB key tested the different formats (WBFS, fat32, NTFS) ==> not sure it works:unsure:

Many, many USB keys do not work or badly with the wii (see the forum for comments)

a good FAT32 external hard drive and you're done!!!!:yaywii:

Make sure it's formatted as Fat32 32kb cluster size, and has only one partition. Check in WiiBackupmanager that Wii games appear there, and verify the hash for some if you have to.
Also what loader are you using? Make you're using this version for usbloadergx, or the latest Wiiflow Lite (v.5.5.3).
Make sure the flash drive is plugged in port 0.

USB port 0 is the most commonly used port, not many people ever use the other one. Download either USB Loader GX (this) or WiiFlow Lite (here) for the latest version.

Hi
Thanks for the reply - so this happens fairly regularly with the wii does it jeannotte? - I actually have an external hard drive I will hook up and see if the wii recognises it and if it does I will invest in one for the wii all my dance music/trance in on the main hard drive can't be deleting that 🕺🕺🕺🤣🤣

Something like a SanDisk flash drive would do the trick, although HDD compatiblity may vary on the model and/or vendor (see here, might be outdated).

When in USBLoaderGX, check the icons on the top banner, and make sure it's set to show "Wii games". Also, check the hdd path in the settings, it should be set to port 0.
Also, when you first launch USBLoaderGX, it should pass the "usb initiation" screen detecting your hdd, without showing the 20s countdown..

Correct, it is the lower port.

Also, post a syscheck here.

Ya, this setups are for both. Wii and vWii -> (v)Wii. Or did you found there something wrong explained?
I was just asking cause you only wrote solutions "for vWii" in your post, and there's no mention on his posts that he's on vwii, so i was wondering if i missed something, dassit.
