I am looking to update my PC. It is currently running an i3 with 6GB of ram. I want to turn it into a beast. Here is the proccesor I want(excuse the romanian link) http://www.emag.ro/procesor-intelr-...b-socket-1150-box-bx80646i54460/pd/DHHPLBBBM/ then here is my ram www.emag.ro/memorie-hyperx-fury-blue-16gb-ddr3-1600mhz-cl10-1-5v-kit-2x8gb-hx316c10fk2-16/pd/DV4P1BBBM/ and then here is my mobo http://www.emag.ro/placa-de-baza-asus-socket-1150-h81m-k/pd/D2N1VBBBM/ so will it all work? If everything does could I get a second hand i7 socket 1150 so it actually fits my mobo or it being second hand means that it wouldnt run as fast?

The best you can do with your existing platform is getting a haswell/devil's canyon CPU and then get a Z97 mobo eventually.
Do you have a graphics card?

Get an i5 4690 and a CoolerMaster 212 Evo CPU cooler (so it can boost up without throttling). Get the RAM you specified in the OP.

Which GPU do you have? If it's already satisfactory, keep it. If you're aiming towards emulation, keep it no matter how powerful it is, it's probably good enough. But if you're looking at PC gaming and your computer came with 6GB of RAM and an i3, it's probably time to upgrade your GPU as well. Look at an AMD RX 470 or RX 480

I actually upgraded everything in my pc over the years so i guess you could call it a custom build

Also my GPU is a GTX 750 TI

See, I don't feel like he needs a motherboard upgrade unless he really feels like overclocking. I haven't even touched my 4690K's multiplier, which means it's still running at stock 3.5GHz, but it runs very dutifully

I have an i3 540 3.07ghz, from my googlefu there isnt any i3 with an 1150 socket
Ah, sorry, I assumed the motherboard in the OP was the one that you already had on hand. As it isn't, we need to decide if you're interested in overclocking your CPU or not, and whether or not you'd like to upgrade straight to Skylake as opposed to Haswell

I will not overclock and I am not intrested in Skylake
