Hacking Question Upgrading MMC Query

Even in firmware 8.0.1 (not sure if it's any relevant), does the idea of switching memory card for a "hacked" Switch (running on ReiNX) be as simple as copying over files from the original?

Note: I meant the memory card.

You say MMC but then say memory card. So are you talking about switching the NAND or the SD card?

Sorry that was stupid. I did not think that "MMC" now pertains to "NAND" as well. But, yeah, I meant the memory card.
