I upgraded my Wii to 4.0 using the official Nintendo way (cause I heard Wanin's 4.0 upgrader caused bricks).

After that I decided to go update my homebrew through the HBB (Homebrew Browser) and it couldn't connect.
Rest my WiFi settings and everything and it still wouldn't work.

Any suggestions?

First thing to try, resetting. Doesn't sound like it will work, but sometimes it does.
Second thing, move the Wii closer to the WiFi access point.
Third thing, delete your WiFi settings and try again.
My last idea is waiting for 10 seconds before each step (10 seconds to load HBC, 10 seconds to load HBB, etc). This is just to give it time to connect and may not actually work.

That's what you can do without doing any real tampering. Since you seem to say it works for everything else, then the only other alternative I can think of is just going to WiiBrew to browse/download it all.

As an afterthought, check your SD card. Maybe it's not working because it can't read your SD card?
