Gaming Updating TV ?

Well its not a "computer" but yeah it has a hard drive and some other stuff.
I can stream movies, pics and music from my computer trough W-lan to my TV the problem is that most stuff I want to watch is mainly MKV and my TV does not understand MKV (yet) so I would love to "update" it somehow but i have no clue if this is even possible.

I have an "old" Samsung Crystal Line TV (would need to search to get the exact one) just now it was something with B ... 4 or 5

one or two years ago when i got my tv new there was a small forum with several ppl trying to hack the samsung tv's but no clue what became out of this ... just want to somehow install the codec for mkv ...
