thanks for all the support guys, by the way this is the setup of my sx os boot menu.
i can't seem to find emunand enabled. can you tell if i already have emunand?
or what is the case status of my setup?, thank you so much, i really appreciated all your help

if emunand was installed it would show above the first option on that second screen

so is means my setup config and files is direct to sysnand?
do i need to create emunand just to play super mario 3d allstars?
or i just need to upgrade only my ofw sysnand to play supermario 3d allstars?

correct, or that sxos can't find it. just go to the options tab and create an emunand.

"backup your game saves with JKSV, update sysNand, delete emuNand, dump sysNand, copy the backup on your PC, create emuNand (or you can just rename sxos/backup folder into sxos/emunand), reinstall your games/homebrews, restore your game saves."
This is what I call a "clean update" and I did the same to go from 10.0.4 to 10.1.0

i think this is the step i should follow what do you think?

Nice thank you - if I update the sysnand that way will the emunand still function on a lower firmware or would I need to update both at the same time?

the sysnand and emunand are independent of each other, update emunand won't impact on sysnand, so if you didn't install any pirate games in sysnand, you can use normal online updating system in sysnand.
