Homebrew Updating N3ds on A9LH

Hi,

Im a bit of a noob so wanted to check before i went ahead.
I downgraded by nds and installed a9lh, freeshop etc.

My ds keeps saying that I need to update my software. Can I do this by just saying yes or will it muck up my ds? Is there a certain procedure?

I also have a old ads with the same problem- would this be the same method?

If you have A9LH you can update without any issues in system settings

What firmware are you on now? If you have a9lh and already restored your system to a firmware above 2.x you can safely update. But don't try to update from 2.x on n3ds because it will brick.

Is it saying software update or system update? There's a big difference. Software updates are for the games you have installed and system updates are to the system. Software updates are OK to do and since you have A9LH system updates shouldn't be an issue, just check here to see if it's safe to perform a system update before you do it.
