I already did it on another 3ds but I will wait until gw release a9lh support. Until then using emunand is okYeah you can do that through Decrypt9 and then Erase your EmuNAND and use updated SysNAND mode with AuReiNand Custom Firmware(it's a CFW)

I personally prefer sysnand, because it actually uses the new 3ds's hardware instead of the sd. After installing a9lh, it gives me the stock feel again.Unless your nand hard bricks while messing around with it, another reason why keeping emunand going is a good backup if the extra space isn't a concern
I have a question to ask you about this. Would this mean you can not recover from a brick updating a9lh without firm protection? That is assuming aureinand did not have it.The only way you can hard brick your nand with a9lh is if you brick firm0/firm1 which is very difficult to do. About the only way is to be careless with godmode9.

If i remember correctly, aureinand has firm protection of you update sysnand. Is it enabled by default? I'm hoping that is not those things that have to enable yourself. :/
Ah but lets say nintendo found a fix for this a9lh (if it ever happens), will the brick be uncoverable? Updating without firm protection will lead to an unrecoverable brick even with a9lh right?Yes, it is enabled by default and I don't believe it is possible to turn it off. The only reason godmode9/decrypt9 can brick your firm0/firm1 (if you are careless) is because they don't run under aureinand but rather before it. Or to be more precise, the aureinand chainloader will load decrypt9/godmode9 instead of loading the normal cfw payload.
