I am looking to see if the n2 elite (amiiqo) has updated its software any. Last I checked it only really had pictures/data on the amiibo for smash bros and mario. It lacked any pictures/info for the Animal crossing cards, shovel knight, and other amiibo.

Is there a way to update the app to include this data? Or is there a better alternative than the software that comes with the device?

If is for android app, there is an alternate version :)

The N2 elite doesn't come with any Amiibo's. You still have to buy the Amiibo's (or download from that ISO site) and copy them the the device.

I think he meant that the app is no longer updated as more amiibo releases, but the images on it are not updated.

Yeah, they are blank.
It's sad that they dont update it...
I have only nfc reader that i ordered with amiiqo.
And blank pictures is so dawn annoying, because I dunno what amiibo data there

I am curious. If you buy an android phone off of ebay (an older one) with NFC but don't activate it with a phone service, can you still use Wifi and NFC or will the phone not operate at all? I would want it to use with the N2 Elite.

You still can use wifi and NFC without activiting the service. But make sure the Android version is more than 4.2

Can you list some older phones which are compatiable with your android software? I just don't want to make a mistake in purchasing.

I dunno if it's old or cheap enough for you, but I can guarantee that Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) and Asus ZenFone 2 (ZE551-ML) both have NFC that are compatbile with Amiibitz/Amiiqo/N2 Software.

Thanks! The Samsung S4 seems the most plentiful available. But do I need to get that exact S4 model? Do the others have NFC? They can be a lot cheaper. Only thing I am concerned is if they are upgradable to at least lollipop. Does Samsung provide the OTA upgrades for these phones?

Edit: searching the web it seems that different S4 versions may have different NFC chips so it is an issue. For your version of the S4, what version of android is running on it? I assume 4.2 or higher.

Would a Nexus 5 be a safe bet? Not too expensive and the android software seems to be fairly up to date. On Maxconsole it says it works with the standard app but I want to use Amiibitz.

If I recall rightly (I've sold the s4 recently) it received a upgrade to 5 version, but I've downgraded my device because the choose of white notification bar created an ugly burn in.

For other users, who happen to find this and having the same thought, Since maxconsole say it works on nexus 5, amiibitz also work on neuxs 5, since similar API used :)

Sry, i mean an alternative version, as the official windows app is still on 1.1 and doesn't have any kind of support or updates.
Yeap, that's all.
N2e dev's don't work on windows app and this app don't have open source code like they promise to release...
There exist one app for custom made\buyed device (better then buy NFC android phone, it would be cheaper), but it's only work with NFC NTAG215 and not with Amiiqo\N2elite NFC device.
