For offline users, I think it is best to stay on the FW version where the console is currently located and set up an emNand (emuMMC) file variant (for easy backup) and use it on the latest FW compatible with a CFW.

do you care if one day u can use cfw without a dongle or pc? if not then it doesn't matter.. but make sure atmos is updated before upgrading

Not really honestly I'm OK using PC, Tegra and all. And I'm using SX
