Hey guys.

So I recently got involved in the hardmodding community, more specifically the portabilizing community. I was wanting to make a portable Wii and after some research I found out that this requires a custom firmware package called PortablizeMii. I haven't really found much on what exactly this installs, but on the Download page it says that previously modded Wiis (like mine) aren't guaranteed to work.

Therefore I was wondering if there is a way to uninstall my already-installed cIOS:es and return the Wii to its factory-new state.

But looking through a few threads here I found that you can overwrite iOS slots without problems, but I would like that confirmed before I do it.

Here's my Wii syscheck:

I'll see what I can find out about these PortablizeMii cIOS:es, but until then thanks a lot in advance.

Cheers!

I'd like to think that any dependencies would come with said software. Do you have a nand backup from before you modded it? If so try backing up your save data then installing the backup nand. If not backup your current nand before doing anything. From my understanding uninstalling things from slots like that is generally a bad idea. The software might have dependencies though that'll override older slots if need be.

You can overwrite the IOS afaik without issue, you can simple use ModMii to download the latest version of the IOS need.

The only IOS and CIOS needed are CIOS 249 and IOS 58.

For making the portable wii, and using the needed pack, you overwrite them all without issues, im pretty sure that some of the cios and ios modded are going to be with modules removed.

Thanks a lot ScarletDreamz! I'll just go again and install it then.

And I do, for the record, have a NAND backup on my pc. Thanks a lot for the quick responses!

Btw, can someone mark this thread as solved?
