I tried to go on PSN again to see if it worked, and it prompted me for a new update, but I can't find any news of this update online. . .

anybody got an idea??

Updating now.

By play online, does this mean just gaming online? or I still can't cruise the PS Store.

EDIT:

It's weird, only after I started updating did I start seeing things online about it. This update is taking forever, I hope it includes a lot more than just stuff for the future of PSN.

Update download finished, installing now.

Didn't they say the PS3 Online service would be up, before the PSN Store?

Pretty sure they changed that to everything being back at the end of May. I would have preferred everything except the Store personally, but beggars can't be choosers.

Yeah mine DC'd twice, so I'm re-dling it AGAIN. Wait, it just finished. Installing now. This better be some good wholesome shit goin' on here. After losing my ACII save data just 20 mins ago, I'm looking forward to more than we're gonna' get, probably.

Update finished. Let's see what's goin' ooonnnn..

EDIT: k, what was the point of this update? I'm used to Nintendo doing this kind of shit, but I thought Microsoft and Sony released like, decent updates usually?. . .

QUOTEWe have been working on a new PS3 system software update that requires all PSN users to change their password once PlayStation Network is restored.

Ah no I saw that, I just thought they'd throw in some other fun shit too, I don't know haha. Anyway. I guess this is a step forward, which is quite radical.

I think (from what i read) the update is just for us to change our password, giving us the ability to sign in to PSN? or is it that it just wants us to change our password so that when PSN is back up we'll just be able to sign in and not have to do a set of run around.

From what I read, it will require you to change your password upon signing in when PSN is back up.

Then a few days later, Mathieulh claim he found an exploit, but doesn't release it, because we all know he is scared.

i am praying that this firmware is broken in some way. we need a new exploit.

we don't need anymore hacking shit to happen like this last time.
