1. Message information is displayed on the top screen of NDS machine.
2. Enhance the GBA cheat function. Now, more than 1 item of parameter at the same line will also take effect.
3. File name with Japanese characters was supported in Japanese version.

I tried updating the firmware but it says "Error... Please update with chinese version". I'm 100% sure I copied the chinese files (did it two times), and everytime I get that message. I took the Chinese GB version.
There's also Chinese Big5, what's that?

They misplaced the Chinese GB version with Japanese version, wait for update.

I used the "ChineseBig5" firmware update and the GBA Rom names are now displayed in English! Don't know if the regular Chinese firmware does the same. BTW I have the Chinese version.

mine display the internal names instead of any forced names... a lot better than chinese forced names... then again i can read a few chars here and there

Big 5 is the Chinese Traditional font used in Hong Kong / Taiwan etc. Basically it's used to display the traditional form of Chinese characters. China has simplified many of their characters and GB is the simplified font for displaying these.

Er, sorry if this was asked before, I'm a bit confused now..

Do we need to format the cart everytime we update? If so, I just need to format it, use the maintainence tool, load the two update files in, plug into my DS to patch, then when it's done, load the roms in?

Reason why I'm asking is because a lot of people messed up their carts.

there's no reason to reformat every time.

Updating firmware never requires a format.
I've gone back and forth from 4.0 beta to 4.1B several times.

If for some reason you do have to format, after formatting and running the mputilty program, you have to safely remove hardware then reinsert it for windows to recognize the device.

Furthermore, every time you format it is not necessary to run mputility either. This tool should only be used if you are having problems with your cart.

I updated to 4.1B prior to reading your replies. Works well.

It's quite funny why the chinese firmware has english instructions at the top screen (no more touchpod logo?)

So does anyone have a definite answer as to why the G6 Lite's were getting corrupted. Was it just people not being careful enough when using their carts with their computers?
